When you just get started on your speed cubing journey - the transition from non-solver, to solver to speedcuber seems nearly impossible at every step. Describing speed cubing alone can be just difficult as there are so many elements and considerations to describe.
Thankfully the crew at Wired Science have done a fantastic job of describing this journey - the challenges, the possibilities and lastly the science of the Rubik's cube and speedcubing in an article and accompanying Youtube video.
